There are so many excellent places to dine in and around Baltimore, it’s hard to choose. Our free Howard County vacation guide will point you to some regional favorites, but today we’d like to highlight the Rusty Scupper, located right on the Inner Harbor.

Rusty Scupper: Prime Location

Put simply, the Rusty Scupper offers amazing food and incredible views. Located above the Inner Harbor Marina in a dramatic, free-standing building, the Rusty Scupper sits three levels above the water, offering beautiful views from every table. This full-service contemporary seafood restaurant and bar serve lunch, dinner and Sunday live jazz brunch.

Wherever you’re seated at the Rusty Scupper, you can expect dramatic, sweeping views of Harborplace, the Inner Harbor, and Fells Point.

Flavors of Maryland

From the Inner Harbor’s very best authentic Maryland crab cakes and crab soups to the East Coast’s freshest oysters plus elegantly prepared shrimp, lobster and beef dishes. The Rusty Scupper menu covers everything a seafood lover could want, with flavors to entice everyone’s unique tastes.

Some menu classics include authentic Maryland crab cakes served with three-mustard butter sauce; Kent Island crab-stuffed shrimp; lobster tails; bouillabaisse; cedar plank salmon; coconut fried jumbo shrimp; and of course fish and chips.

Make the Most of the Inner Harbor

The Inner Harbor Baltimore is one of the main draws to the city. It’s steeped in history, culture, science, nightlife–everything you could want in one convenient, beautiful location.

Before your dinner at the Rusty Scupper, consider taking a harbor cruise. Watermark cruises offer harbor and beyond trips on the 65-foot big red boat. Cruises range from daily 45-minute narrated cruises to Saturday night, hourlong City Lights cruises.

The award-winning Maryland Science Center is right on Inner Harbor, and the building itself is an unmistakable landmark. The Center features an IMAX theater and planetarium in addition to its many hands-on and interactive exhibits.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore houses more than 17,000 creatures, from sharks to tropical fish. Among the incredible exhibits, you’ll find a walk-through rain forest, a 4-D Immersion Theater, the Living Seashore touchpool, and an Australian exhibit featuring a 35-foot waterfall.

And of course, you’ll be able to marvel at the Inner Harbor’s historic ships. The USS Constellation, the USS Torsk, the USCGC Taney, the Lightship Chesapeake and more historic ships make their home at the Inner Harbor Baltimore. You can climb aboard and see for yourself what life aboard ship was like, as well as the roles these very vessels played in American history.

At nearby Fort McHenry (the Water Taxi can take you there), you’ll learn about the Battle of Baltimore and even experience  living history weekends, where the Fort McHenry Guard performs demonstrations.

We’d love to host your next Baltimore getaway here at the nearby Wayside Inn.
